WAMP (Windows, Apache, MySQL, and PHP) is a software stack that enables users to run WordPress and other web applications on a Windows operating system.

WAMP is an open-source software package that provides a local web server environment on a user’s Windows computer, allowing them to develop and test web applications locally before deploying them to a live server.

Since WordPress isn’t built for Windows Servers by default, WAMP is used as a method of installing WordPress on windows computers.
